This site is a portfolio. It does not sell anything, does not run advertising, and does not use Google Analytics or social media tracking pixels. Two things do happen: a small amount of information is stored on your device to run on-site personalisation, and if you use the contact form, I receive what you type into it.
Who is responsible
Saul Sutcher LLC operates saulsutcher.com and decides how the information described here is handled. To ask a question about this policy, or to make any of the requests described below, use the contact form at saulsutcher.com/contact.
What gets stored on your device
Storing anything on your device — whether a cookie, local storage, or anything similar — is treated the same way under EU rules, so all of it is listed here rather than only the things technically called cookies.
Site personalisation and testing — Webflow Optimize (Intellimize)
Eight entries in your browser's local storage, including a randomly generated visitor ID and a short log of which pages you viewed. They let the site test and personalise what it shows. They persist until you clear your browser storage. This is the only non-essential storage on the site.
Content delivery — _cfuvid
A single session cookie set by Cloudflare when the site loads a script from its network. It is used to tell real traffic from automated traffic and disappears when you close your browser. It does not identify you across sites.
What is not here
No advertising cookies. No Google Analytics. No Meta, LinkedIn or other social tracking pixels. Nothing on this site is used to build an advertising profile of you, and no information about you is sold.
What you send me
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and a message. That is all it collects, and all of it is optional in the sense that you choose whether to write to me at all. Submissions are stored in Webflow and forwarded to me by email.
I use it to reply to you and, if we end up working together, to carry on that conversation. I do not add you to a mailing list, and I do not pass it to anyone selling anything. Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted once they are clearly no longer live — in practice within about two years.
Who else is involved
Running a website means other companies necessarily see some traffic data, usually including your IP address, because your browser has to request files from them. These are the ones this site actually contacts:
Webflow
Hosts the site, stores contact form submissions, and provides the Optimize personalisation described above. United States.
Adobe Fonts
Delivers the typefaces the site uses. Adobe receives your IP address and information about the page requesting the fonts.
Cloudflare, jsDelivr and Amazon CloudFront
Content delivery networks that serve scripts, images and other files. They receive your IP address as part of delivering those files.
All of these process data in the United States. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, your information is therefore transferred outside your home jurisdiction, under the transfer safeguards those providers publish in their own terms.
Why this is allowed
If you are covered by UK or EU data protection law: replying to your enquiry rests on my legitimate interest in responding to someone who contacted me, and on taking steps at your request before any agreement. Delivering the site securely rests on legitimate interest. The personalisation storage described above is not necessary to deliver the site and, properly, rests on your consent.
Being straight with you: this site does not currently show a consent banner, so that storage is written before you have had a chance to agree to it. That is being fixed. Until it is, the opt-out below works immediately and I have set the personalisation tool to honour opt-out signals.
How to turn the tracking off
Clearing site data for saulsutcher.com in your browser removes everything described above, immediately and permanently, until you visit again. In most browsers this sits under Settings, Privacy, and then site or cookie settings.
Blocking local storage or using private browsing also prevents it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the personalisation tool is configured to respect it. And if you would simply rather I dealt with it, ask me through the contact form and I will.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, object to how it is being used, or ask for it in a portable format. Ask through the contact form and I will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Saul Sutcher LLC is a one-person consultancy and falls well below the size thresholds that trigger the California Consumer Privacy Act. I am extending these rights to California residents anyway, because the answer to all of them here is simple. For the record: I do not sell or share personal information, and there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
If you are in the UK or EEA and think I have handled something badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. I would rather you told me first so I can put it right.
Children, and changes to this page
This is a professional portfolio. It is not aimed at children and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent me something through the form, tell me and I will delete it.
If what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no archive of previous versions, so if the specifics matter to you, keep your own copy.
